Helping Carry the Weight of Cancer, Together

Local, direct financial assistance for patients and loved ones navigating treatment.

When someone you love is facing cancer, the weight of it shows up everywhere. Life keeps moving. Bills still come. Work doesn’t always pause. The miles to and from appointments add up, along with the everyday costs of treatment. Travel, time away from work, groceries, medications, bills, and existing obligations all keep coming.

The Brian P. Martell Hart Foundation (BPM) supports local families carrying that weight by providing direct financial assistance to patients and the loved ones walking beside them. We can’t change the diagnosis, but we can help make the day-to-day a little lighter, so strength and energy can go where they matter most.

What We Do

The BPM Foundation offers direct financial assistance to help ease the burden of cancer treatment. No campaigns to manage. No hoops to jump through. Just help, from people who care, to people who need it.

Every Dollar Goes to Families

The foundation is run entirely by the Martell family and a volunteer board of directors. There are no salaries. No overhead. No administrative fees.

That means every dollar donated goes directly to families in our community who need a little extra support right now.

We believe generosity should feel good, feel personal, and actually make a difference.

Brian's Story

The Brian Martell Foundation was created by the Martell family in memory of Brian Martell – a devoted husband, father, son, and brother – who passed away after a battle with cancer.

Like so many families, they experienced how overwhelming this journey can be—not just emotionally, but financially. The goal of this foundation is simple: to make that road a little lighter for other families walking it now.

This is about showing up for people when they need it most.

Rooted Right Here in the Capital Region

This foundation serves families throughout the Capital Region of New York. The Martell family has deep roots here, and this community has always shown up for them.

With the support of local partners and friends, spearheaded by Druthers Brewing Company, we’re building something that stays local, stays personal, and stays focused on helping people who live right here.

Help a Family In Need. Donate Now.

Your donation might help cover gas to get to treatment. It might help pay for a hotel room near the hospital. It might help keep things steady at home while someone focuses on getting better. These are small things that can make a big difference to a family who would give anything to change their circumstances.

If you’re able, we’d be grateful to have you be part of this.
